Elias Cosindas was born in Athens in 1968.

Since 1989 he is the owner of a professional darkroom that specializes in black and white fine printing. In addition to his printing career, he has been working as commercial photographer with clients such as Athens 2004 Olympic Games (the official introductory guide of Athens 2004 send to all the world titled “ There’s no place like home”), Acropolis Museum (Opening Ceremony Video Stills Photographer and cataloguing the artifacts in the showcase of the Museum), Karcher Hellas, Estee Lauder. He works mainly for book publications, exhibitions and museums. His work has been exhibited and published in books and magazines such as the N.Y. Times, Eleftherotypia.
He is also working on a number of personal art projects.

He has worked as a teacher assistant for Costantinos Manos in his summer seminars in Skopelos, organized by the local “Photographic Center” in collaboration with the “Maine Photographic Workshops”.
He studied photography at Focus School of Photography. He has attended photographic seminars with the Magnum photographers Nicos Economopoulos and Larry Towell and seminars at the “Photographic Circle” with Platon Rivelis in Athens as well as a year at the “Aegean School of Fine Arts” in Paros.

He has taught photography at the drug addiction center “Paremvasi”.
Also he has given short time lectures about his work and darkroom at the Leica Academy, Focus, and for the employees of Olympic Airways Photo Club. He has organized children’s workshops with Moraitis School.

• 1996 “Photo Presentations” book publication of group exhibition for Leica Academy Hellas.

• February 2000 “Aegean- Images of Greece” book publication of the group exhibition presented by the Greek Ministry of Mass Media in the United States: Washington – Boston – Virginia, France: Paris, Finland: Helsinki, Belgium: Brussels, Italy: Rome, Denmark: Copenhagen, Switzerland: Zurich.

• March 2004 “04, 31 Photographers, give their picture of Greece for 2004” a collector’s edition publication of Athens 2004 Olympic Games Organization.

• October 2007 “Virtual Reality” catalogue for the solo exhibition “Virtual Reality”.

• April 2011 “Children’s Joy” book accompanying the exhibition “Children’s Joy”.
